The Foundation is the largest grant maker in San Diego. Guided by our mission, we awarded more than $67 million last year:

  • 5,000 grants
  • to 1,200 organizations in areas such as education, arts and health
  • in San Diego, the U.S., Israel and worldwide

IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER

An IRA charitable rollover permits individuals over age 70.5 to make tax-free charitable gifts of up to $100,000 per year directly from their individual retirement accounts to qualified charities.

As markets fell and fears deepened, the Foundation convened a community forum in November 2008 to share strategies and tactics for ensuring strong governance during turbulent times. The crowd included leaders from nearly every Jewish organization in San Diego of all denominations – orthodox, conservative, reform and reconstructionist.

RONALD AND ANNE SIMON
"By making this gift, we are doing a little to help perpetuate the activities of our synagogue so that families who join it in the future will have a wonderful place to pray, learn, celebrate, and express themselves as Jews."
